Here is a good example of a Grande Ronde hatchery steelhead. It hit a hot shot in one of Brian Nielson's, bjguide.com, favorite holes.

A group of anglers were camped on this point on the Grande Ronde River. The scenery you see on a float down this remote stream is spectacular.

My wife Eileen is pretty proud of this steelhead, the largest one she has ever landed. It hit a Maxi Jig, baited with shrimp, and took several spectacular jumps before coming to the net.

This steelhead ran under the boat and was jumping on the opposite side, while I was leaning over trying to keep it from getting in the motor! This one of two I hooked near the bridge at Bridgeport.

Linda Anatatmula is thrilled with this triploid she caught and released at Bridgeport. She had the hot rod that day, outfishing all of the "boys", and catching the only keeper steelhead.

Here's the Anantatmula clan aboard my Jetcraft at Bridgeport. We all had a great day, catching and releasing many triploids and keeping one hatchery steelhead, all on bobbers and jigs.

Josh Anantatmula was pretty proud of this triploid that we released. He enjoyed fishing with me and his grandparents and father near Bridgeport.
