There are a lot of good choices for anglers for a variety of species here in Central Washington. Lake trout are coming in bunches for anglers fishing on Lake Chelan. The fish aren’t huge, but count on fast action, fishing close to the bottom in the lower basin. Trout anglers should try to make a trip to Roses Lake. I like fishing at Roses this time of year. The weather can be mild and the 12-inch plus rainbow feisty. They can be taken while trolling, with a fly rod or from shore, and the fishing will be good until the ice gets to thick to launch a boat. Fishing for triploid rainbow in Rufus Woods is going to be the thing to do from now through the winter, and it may never stop. There are just so many fish in the reservoir that a guaranteed good time is assured for anyone who wants to give it a try. One thing you many want to try from shore is a very small steelhead jig. Pinch the barb, forget the bait, and you’ll be surprised how many you can catch and release. Steelhead fishing continues to be good from Rocky Reach up.
