The Bureau of Reclamation and the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery will be hosting two public meetings about the upcoming Water Delivery System Rehabilitation Project on December 1st. This will be an opportunity for the public to learn the details of the project and to ask questions. The first meeting will take place in the Alpine Room at the Enzian Inn, located at 590 Highway 2 in Leavenworth, beginning at 1 p.m. The meeting should last about two hours. The second meeting, later the same day, will also take place at the Enzian in the Apline Room, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This is a significant, multi-year project that will address the water needs of the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, which is a primary producer of spring Chinook salmon. For more information about the meetings, you may contact the Leavenworth National Fish at 509-548-7641. Another item regarding the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery to note is the guided snowshoe tours that start after the first of the year. I will be sure and let everyone know when they begin and how to sign up for the free tours.
