The weather is looking more and more like real steelhead fishing weather now, and I know that there will be a lot more anglers out looking for fish on our area waters. If you have caught steelhead on bobbers and jigs, spoons, Corkies and other methods, and have always wanted to see what it would be like to catch one on a fly, here’s something for you. The Wenatchee Valley Fly Fishers Club is offering a chance to learn to tie steelhead flies. On Wednesday, October 28th in the PUD Auditorium in Wenatchee the club will help anglers tie three steelhead flies, that they get to keep. There is a five dollar charge for materials, but you will walk out of their with three steelhead flies that you can use to catch a steelhead. The session will start at 5:30. If you have ever wanted to experience catching a steelhead on a fly, this would be the year to do it. Conditions for fly fishing should actually improve with the nastier weather. More fish should move into the upper reaches. Another good spot to toss a fly is below Wells Dam on the main stem Columbia River.
