By Dave Graybill

If you have ever wanted to have the experience of catching a bright spring salmon on the Icicle River at Leavenworth, this would be the year. Anglers are really started to rack up the numbers and the Wenatchee River is packed with fish, waiting for the water in the Icicle to warm up some. When they decide to move in, it is going to be crazy. I haven’t heard how anglers are doing on the Entiat River, but I am sure they are getting their share. Not only are we seeing a huge return of spring salmon to the Icicle, we will have another great season on the main stem Columbia. It is hard to say how many fish will be in our area when the summer run season opens on July 1st, but there will be a bumper crop headed out way to keep us busy all summer up here. In the mean time I want to try get out and get some bass fishing and walleye fishing behind me before the salmon season starts. Better stock up on Super Baits, canned tuna in oil and don’t forget to get a couple bottles of Graybill’s Guide Formula scent.
