By Dave Graybill

I made brief mention of another fishing seminar being offered at Town Ford in Wenatchee, and I wanted to give everyone more details, as promised. The seminar will feature two speakers in a couple of exciting fisheries coming up. Gordon Steinmetz, former owner of Big Wally’s in Coulee City, and well-known walleye guide, will be talking about spring tactics for catching walleye in our region. He is familiar with the walleye fishing on Banks Lake, Lake Roosevelt, Potholes Reservoir and the Columbia River. Also speaking at the seminar will be Shane Magnuson, of Upper Columbia Guide Services. Shane grew up in Leavenworth and nobody knows the Icicle River and the spring salmon fishing here than he does. Anglers will get very detailed information on how he rigs for springers on the Icicle and he will also touch on the spring salmon fishing on the lower Columbia, below the Dalles. I just learned that the boys from Valley Marine will also be there with some boats for anglers to inspect. It all happens at Town Ford on Wednesday, April 7th, beginning at 6 p.m. I will be on hand to talk about some other early season prospects. Hope to see you there!
