It’s hard to believe but we are going to be trout fishing in just a couple of weeks. The annual opener of the Quincy Wildlife Area lakes is coming up on March 1st, and this first trout season of the year is always popular. There is something special going on this year at Burke and Quincy lakes. Quincy Valley Tourism has come with a great idea to attract the attention of fishing families to their area. They are going to have a Trout Derby on Saturday, March 5th at the two lakes. They are putting in tagged trout with a total value of $5,000.00! One fish is worth a whopping $3,000.00. They will be on hand on that Saturday selling derby tickets, raffle tickets and handing out information about the Quincy Valley. You can learn all about the event by logging onto my web site (fishingmagician.com) and clicking on the ad at the top right of my Home Page. Scroll down on the Quincy Valley page you’ll find directions on how to print out the rules and even a registration form. Plan on being in Quincy on March 5th for some fishing a fun and maybe some big money!
