One of my favorite events in Eastern Washington is coming up this weekend. Actually starting on Friday is the 22nd Annual Sportsman Show which is held at the Sundome in Yakima. I have always enjoyed spending a day at this show. I have been going long enough that it is almost a social event. I see a lot of the guides, tackle makers, retailers and others I have know for many years at the show. Some I only see once a year, but being able to spend some time with them here gives us a chance to get caught up. That’s what’s nice about this particular show. It is big, with a huge variety of things to see, but not so big that you can’t spend some time with the exhibitors. It has the usual attractions for families, like the trout pond for the kids, great seminars, lots of photos and videos of great hunting and fishing adventures from local services to the Canadian and Alaskan lodges. There are always some great bargains offered by some of the shops that transfer a large part of their inventories to the show grounds. Last year I went to the show and still made it back in time to attend the Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association Game Feed.
