The Wenatchee Valley Sportsmen’s Show opens Friday at the Town Toyota Center. Hope to see you there. The next big event in our region is coming up the first weekend in March. This is when the many lakes in the Quincy area open to fishing, and it’s the 4th Annual Tagged Trout Derby sponsored by the Quincy Valley Tourism Association. There is a new twist this year. In addition to the tagged trout worth $3,000.00 being released into Burke Lake, the same number of fish worth $3,000.00 will be released into Quincy Lake. Also, every angler that catches a tagged trout that isn’t one of big money winners will be paid $100.00. This means that more than double the amount of cash that could be handed out at this year’s derby! There will be cash prizes for the biggest fish for both adult and youth categories and other ways to win cash and prizes at the derby. A derby ticket is still just $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids. You can get all the details by logging onto quincyvalleytourism.org, or by clicking on the “Something is Fishy in Quincy” logo on the Home Page of my web site.
