By Dave Graybill

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. We sure got a white one over here in Leavenworth. It has made it really tough to plan a trip to go fishing anywhere. It is very frustrating, as the rainbow and kokanee fishing is great at Lake Roosevelt and the steelhead fishing on many spots on the main stem Columbia and the Wenatchee River should be excellent. I have caught a lot of steelhead in the snow. It’s just that the roads are too slick to navigate. I will just have to pass my time dreaming of how I am going to use the cool stuff I got from under the tree. One nice surprise was a box full of gear from Kokabow Fishing Tackle. They sent me some of their blades in the new colors and I am very excited about using them at Lake Roosevelt and especially for the kokanee on Lake Chelan. Believe it or not, there will be guys out looking for these kokanee very soon now. They get after them earlier and earlier every year. I sure hope they are as abundant and as big as they were last year. We’ll know pretty soon.
