By Dave Graybill

A great day of fishing with a little bit of catching was what I had on Wednesday of this week. My fishing buddy Brian Anatatmula, his son Josh and his nephew Drew, who was visiting from Phoenix and I fished at Chelan Falls. Also joining us was Austin Moser, who had just returned from guiding in Alaska for the past month. As usual there was a good early morning bite at Chelan Falls, and we were busy. We had four good hook ups in the first hour. We had three adults close to the boat before they slipped the hooks, and Josh landed the first fish hooked, a good sized jack. We tried to coax another fish out of Chelan Falls, but gave it up and headed up river to Wells Dam, looking for sockeye. There were groups of fish passing through here, but fishing was very slow when we arrived. We saw very few fish being hooked by the parade of boats fishing the big eddy. We did manage to hook a few but only Drew managed to get one to the net. Like I said, it was a great day of fishing, with a little bit of catching, and we all had a great time.
