It sure sounds like the walleye are coming out of their spawning funk at both Banks Lake and Potholes Reservoir. I think that even Moses Lake is pumping out walleye now. Last time I was a Moses Lake the walleye bite was very slow, but I hear it has really picked up. The same is true at Banks Lake and Potholes Reservoir. I was at the Banks Lake Triple Fish Challenge recently and was amazed at the fish that were weighed in. The first day one angler turned in a walleye that was over 11 pounds, and he released it. The next day there were 6-, 7- and 8-pound walleye weighed in. Those are nice fish in anyone’s book. I plan to go walleye fishing this week, and don’t know where. When I get back I will be sure and fill you in and how I did. The other good reports I am getting are from Lake Roosevelt, which is still producing limit catches of big kokanee. They are a little deeper, but not out of reach of those who are trolling side planners. Lake Chelan isn’t at its peak for kokanee fishing but anglers fishing from the Yacht Club down are posting some good catches. There are some nice cutthroat being caught Chelan, now, too.
