Merry Christmas to everyone, and a Happy New Year! I hope that you will make getting outdoors part of the Holiday with family and friends. The chilly weather may discourage this, but I found a few hardy anglers fishing at Rufus Woods when I traveled there last Friday. I went up to Brandts Landing, and since my fishing partner and I limited so quickly I took my bobber and jig fishing gear along. I wanted see if this would work and I could then release those half-pounders that I caught and kept last time. My favorite spot was occupied when I got to Brandts Landing so I set up at a spot that I hadn’t fished from before. While I was watching my bobber I could hear a couple of anglers below me, and they had obviously caught some fish. It sounded like they had a bet going and one angler was sure to win with the big fish he caught. Lucky him. I didn’t get any fish. On my way home I stopped at the fishing area below the power line tower above the dam. The group there had caught a couple of half-pounders so far and were hoping for a big one.
