It is hard to believe but the eight annual North Central Washington Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association is coming up later this month. Hard to believe that it has been eight years since this group got together. The CCA nationally has an amazing record of defending wild species of fish and locally the group has played an important role in lending support to fish conservation and enhancement issues. They have been responsible for the Wenatchee Salmon Derby and help out with other fish related events in the area. The annual banquet is an important fund raising activity for the CCA and it’s also a lot of fun. This year’s event will be held at the Cashmere Riverside Center on Friday, March 31st, starting at 5 p.m. There is an excellent catered buffet dinner, but the focus is on the silent and live auctions. You will be amazed at the variety of items that will be available in these auctions. The cost of tickets is $65.00, which includes a year’s membership in CCA and a subscription to the monthly magazine. You can get tickets at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and Sportsman’s Warehouse in East Wenatchee.
