Here is a mark your calendar item for an upcoming event. On Saturday, May 13th Hooked on Toys will be offering a series of three seminars at their store, located at 1444 North Wenatchee Avenue in Wenatchee. Topics that will be covered by the seminars are kokanee fishing, walleye fishing and summer-run salmon fishing. The first presentation will be made at 11:00 a.m. Lance Merz, of the Mack’s Lure Company, will be conducting the kokanee seminar. Merz is a former winner of the Lake Chelan Kokanee Derby, and will show you the tackle and techniques he uses to successfully fish for kokanee here in Central Washington. At 1:00 p.m. Ed Iman will take the stage. Iman is a noted walleye guide and tournament angler, and he will describe the methods he uses to take trophy-size walleye that he has caught on the Columbia River. At 2 p.m. Austin Moser, of Austins Northwest Adventures guide service, will be the speaker, and he will talk about how he catches summer-run salmon on the upper Columbia River. There will be free drawings for prizes from Yakima Bait, Work Sharp, Mack’s Lure, Dutch Fork Custom Lures, Izore Line and Grays Harbor Unders.
