By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I sat up late last night watching the Mariners game. They were up and then they were down and then, miraculously, Robinson Cano hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 8th and they beat the defending World Series Champion Houston Astros 7-4. Just when I was about to give up on them, they came through. Will they make the playoffs? Probably not, but who's to say? I couldn't help make the correlation between baseball and fishing, sitting there reveling at the come from behind victory. For many, baseball and fishing are one in the same...boring! I've had people ask how in the world I could enjoy a sport where there's a lot of sitting around and waiting. I believe it's because you never know what's going to happen. It's completely unscripted. In baseball, there's that middle-of-your-gut pang as the batter steps in with two outs and your team's down and you want him to get a hit. It's the same when you drop a lure over the side into the watery abyss. There's that anticipation of a bite. Even when it happens, you never know how bit the fish...or hit. Until next time, Good Fishing!
