By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. With the hustle and bustle of the holiday's weighing us down, I suggested to Marion that we get away last weekend and go fishing at Rufus Woods Reservoir. She jumped at the thought so, after basketball Friday night, we jumped in the truck and camper and headed north. By morning's first light, we had two lines in the water at Brandt's Landing, hoping for a bite. The moon shown brightly all night Friday night, so I didn't think whatever fish in the neighborhood would be up for feeding come daylight. Sure enough, not a single bite in 13-hours of fishing. We lingered into the night hours, fishing by lamp light, hoping for a bite. Nothing. After a good night's sleep, I was back up fishing again by 7:15 Sunday morning. Better bait in hand, thanks to some neighbor fisherman from the day before, I had high hopes. But the weekend turned out to be a great camp out, not a good fishing trip. The neighbors who gave us some Power Bait the day before said the lone fish they landed was the first in 9-trips. Guess we'll settle for beef for Christmas dinner instead of fish. Until next time, Good Fishing!
