By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. If you haven't been to Brandt's Landing on Rufus Woods Reservoir in a while like me, you need to go back. They've made great improvements to the area, including paved and striped parking. There are two vaulted toilets. Fire rings at just about every fishing spot as well as picnic tables. There's even a spot perfect for the disabled or folks who don't get around so well that includes an abutment with rails and pole holders from which to fish. Marion and I were there a couple weekends ago to try our luck and cast a line. I'd read a couple reports of folks doing well from the bank either using marshmallows and night crawlers or Power Bait. We didn't arrive until after dark Friday, so we had to wait on first light Saturday morning to fish. I soaked several night crawlers for hours until I began switching out to just about everything else in my tackle box. Nothing worked. Not even a bight. A quick trip to the Chevron Qwik-E-Mart in Bridgeport resulted in some Sherbet Sparkle Power Bait. It did the trick and we caught two, nice trout. Until next time, Good Fishing!
