By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I was over visiting my parents last weekend in Western Washington. While doing some running around, I met a father and his 14 year old daughter who told me they'd just moved from Spain. Apparently he's in the military and he and his young family had just settled in Bryant while he is stationed in Everett. Seems they've moved from Ohio to Utah to Spain and Washington, among many other deployments. I thanked him for his service and asked how he liked Washington. Both he and his daughter smiled brightly and agreed that Washington has been their favorite "home" so far. He said they'd just taken their canoe up to Lake Cavanaugh to fish kokanee. What a small world! I grew up on the Lake Cavanaugh Road and that's where my parents still live. He asked about my favorite places to fish in the area and I told him Lake 16 and Lake McMurray. When I told him I live in Eastern Washington his eyes widened and said, "I hear that's where all the fish are!" I said he should come over and try it sometime and enjoy the sunshine. Until next time, Good Fishing!
