I am cramming as much fishing in as I can into this week, so I don’t need to be out with the crowds on Memorial Weekend. Nothing wrong with everyone coming over to enjoy the outdoors and all, it’s just that I can fish most anytime and I avoid the crush when I can. I went back to Moses Lake on Wednesday. I know, I know, I was just there. But the weather forecast was for some wind I figured it would make a big difference and I would really romp on ‘em. I called Doyle Cackler, who was on our trip to Los Barriles and he was able to join me. We actually started off strong, landing two very nice walleye right away on crank baits. Then the fun was over. It took us over two hours for Doyle to get the next fish. This one came on my favorite Dutch Fork Shell Back spinner in the Blue Tiger color. It was getting hot and fishing was slow, so I suggested we try the flat above Connelly Park on the way to the launch. Guess what? We missed three fish, landed three fish and got broke off in less than an hour. I should have started there!
