As we move further into November I wanted to look back and see what was getting my attention last year at this time. I remember going to Rufus Woods with my brother Rick to see if we could catch big kokanee above Chief Joseph Dam. We got their early and we did get a couple of rainbow, but it wasn’t what we expected, so we went to plan B. That was to run down to Lake Chelan and try our luck for kokanee at the Yacht Club. The idea was to determine if the kokanee were available and we agreed to fish long enough to catch one limit of ten, as time was short. We launched at the State Park and made the short run to the Yacht Club and started fishing. It took us a while to find fish and see what depth was going to be best. We found fish and the depth of 80 to 100 feet produced strike. Even though we were fishing in the late afternoon we got our ten fish. A few days later my brother in law Tom Verschueren and I returned to the Yacht Club and although I don’t think we got two limits we came close. I hope Chelan kokanee are biting at this time again!
