By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. When I was 5 we went to Mexico. It was Christmas-time and one of my Dad's buddies had a spot in La Paz and invited us to come along. It was my first time on an airplane and this was back in the day when they let kids come up to the cockpit while in flight and the captain gave me a set a wings and a pilot's hat. I don't remember much about Mexico other than the sand was really hot and root beer in Spanish is cerveza de raiz. Suffice it to say I drank a LOT of root beer. La Paz is on the eastern shore of the Baja Peninsula. I remember going out in a small boat with Dad into the Sea of Cortez and looking over the side into the water. It was impossibly clear and I could see sea life galore with fish swimming everywhere. My other memory of Mexico was a road trip where I got car sick and threw up in my sombrero. Well, my wife and I are headed to Puerto Vallarta to make some new memories, hopefully without the sombrero. Until next time, Good Fishing!
