By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. It's that time of year again. Time to shrug the doldrums of cabin fever, brave the mountain passes and get to Puyallup for the Washington Sportsmen's Show. It's going on now through Saturday at the Washington State Fair and Events Center. I hope you go because I can't. Work calls to keep me here. Up until a couple years ago, my Dad would make his annual sojourn down I-5 to Puyallup with my brother Shawn and, as Dad called it, "hit the show." Invariably, he'd call me from the parking lot and say, "OK, I found a great deal on...how many do you want." His shop is still full of Sportsmen's Show fishing rods stacked to the rafters. We broke one out last year on Puget Sound and I said, "where did this rod come from?" Dad said, "I think it was the Sportsmen's Show 7 or 8 years ago." I'm sure you'll find some deals and possibly that bucket-list hunting or fishing adventure with a guide. At the very least, you can take in one of the hundreds of seminars and check out the latest big game mounts and drool. Until next time, Good Fishing!
