By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. By the time you're reading or hearing this report, I'll be on vacation. It's hard to believe that its been 7-months since Marion and I took our last vacation to Mexico. We'll have sand in our toes again, but this time we're exploring the Oregon and Washington coasts. We'll begin our trip at Rockaway Beach in Oregon. It's just down the coast from Seaside and Cannon Beach. Marion's sister is turning 50 so we're having a big get together to celebrate. Then, we'll make our now annual pilgrimage to Grayland to celebrate the 4th. We'll be parking the trailer in front of some friend's house overnight and towing it out onto the beach during the day for some sun, sand, and surf perch fishing. I've taken several lessons from folks who know what the heck they're doing on YouTube and have figured out what I did wrong last year. I was correct in thinking live sand crabs would make great bait, but I was using the wrong kind and rigging the hook the wrong way. Armed with my new information, dry waders and a larger casting rod, I'm ready to pluck some perch. Until next time, Good Fishing!
