By Eric Granstrom

For FishiingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. My Marion and her bright ideas! We finally returned home from Conconully Sunday night at 11:30 after Marion kept begging me to stay out on the water just a little bit longer. Although Monday's alarm came with an unwelcome tone, the weekend's adventure in the Lund to Conconully carried a sweet note. We launched from the State Park on the upper of the two Conconully Lakes Saturday morning at six o'clock. We ran up-lake from the launch to what I call the "elbow." I'd had success fishing this area for Kokanee before and wanted to try again. Our first two fish were nice Rainbows, each about 14-inches. At 8:30, we landed our first Kokanee, which was a beautiful 15-inches and well over a pound. The fishing slowed, however, and we finished the day with 8-fish in 12-hours, including four Kokanee and 4 Rainbow. Our biggest Kokanee measured 18-inches and weight nearly 2-pounds. We slept in a little Sunday and had our first fish by 11:30. We finished trolling the bottom end of the lake and found another nice Kokanee there. The scenery was gorgeous and fishing fun, which kept Marion wanting more. Until next time, Good Fishing!
