It is definitely looking like fall outdoors. I am even seeing leaves changing colors here in Leavenworth. Many of you know that I send out a free quarterly E-Letter, and I just sent out the one for the Fall season. It’s number 48! I have been at it a while. In each E-Letter I focus on one or maybe two fisheries during that particular season that I feel is worth featuring. I also share with E-Letter readers my Top Picks for that season. In the recent issue I talk about fall fishery on the Hanford Reach. Among my Top Picks is Lake Roosevelt, where I mention the terrific walleye fishing in the fall, the great fishing for rainbow trout, and I also reminded people about the northern pike rewards program through the Colville Tribe. They will pay anglers $10 for each northern pike head turned to stations at boat ramps along the reservoir. There is another rewards program going on, too. It is the Statewide Trout Derby conducted by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Anglers can still claim prizes when a tagged trout is caught on one our state’s lakes. The derby runs through the end of October.
