By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. The sun had just cut its way through the overhead cloud cover. Marion was busily reeling in another tugging kokanee and the look on her face said everything. An unmistaken smile broadened her beautiful lips that was an equal indication of her pleasure about the sun's warmth as it was in the joy of catching another fish. It was during that moment that I again caught myself thinking how lucky I am. Not just to have this incredible woman in my life with which to share these moments, but to live in the place we do. We were trolling the waters of Deep Lake in the Sun Lakes Dry Falls State Park complex. The basalt-lined walls of this gorgeous little, watery ravine carved an etching into the skyline. A blue heron's screech echoed off the rocks as I netted Marion's fish. I was thrilled at not just our good fortune of a morning filled with flopping fins and giggling excitement. I stood amazed to know we're in this spot, one of many, and just a short drive from home. This is truly an outdoor enthusiasts Mecca and I appreciate it. Until next time, Good Fishing!
