Man, I am excited. I plan to get out on Lake Roosevelt with Austin Moser on Saturday, and this will be my first chance in over a month to try for those giant kokanee. Austin has been sending me photo after photo of limit catches of these monsters, that measure from 15 to 20 inches. That’s a whopper kokanee by any standards. I am doubly excited as I expect to have a selection of the new copper-back blades from Kokabow Fishing Tackle in time for this trip. I have seen these new blades and know how effective copper can be as a color. I just have a feeling these are going to be very effective on Lake Roosevelt and on Lake Chelan. That’s right, Chelan is also producing kokanee this winter. They may not be as big as the ones on Lake Roosevelt, but it appears that they are going to be abundant again this year. I had a whole lot of fun catching kokanee on Lake Chelan last season and it looks like I am going to be able to do it again this year. What fun! Pick a clear and calm day and get out there after “em!
