By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I'm happy to report that I'm receiving more and more inquiries on where to fish and what to use from folks who haven't fished in a long time. Of course, I preface any suggestions with the warning, "remember they call it fishing and not catching." I'd prefer anyone who decides to go out fishing to have success, especially when there's children involved. As a father when Gracie was young, I always took her places and used techniques I knew would have the best chance to catch fish. It's also a great idea if you're taking young ones out, to bring along plenty of snacks and conversation starters. I knew I drove my Dad nuts with my million questions, but he always answered. Curiosity is crucial. So pack some patience as well. Dad always took the time to teach me in the yard before we ever got lakeside. He put a weight on the end of my line and helped me learn to cast on the grass. He also took the time to explain everything we did and how it worked. It's these memories that I cherish today as we near another Father's Day. Until next time, Good Fishing!
