By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Sometimes the best trip is the one you don't take. Marion and I were loaded up Friday with the boat and camper for a weekend adventure. I had checked the forecast earlier in the day and warned her it was going to get ugly Saturday with high winds and rain. She suggested we switch plans and instead of heading for Grand Coulee we point towards Fish Lake near Lake Wenatchee. So that's exactly what we did. Darkness was just falling Friday night as I lit a campfire at The Cove Resort. It was a beautiful night as campers throughout the grounds celebrated an end to summer and fall's awakening. The pitter-patter of raindrops roused me from my slumber during the night Friday night, so I had an inkling that fishing would not be in the cards Saturday. Sure enough, the rains continued to pound throughout the day with winds off and on. So we didn't do a thing. We lazed in the camper, ate, listened to music, and took several naps. It was simply fantastic. Sunday dawned with winds whipping again so we headed for home without wetting a line. It was a great fishing trip! Until next time, Good Fishing!
