On my last trip to Rufus Woods Reservoir I finished my day fishing near the middle set of net pens. This is where the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Colville Tribe have a shared public access site. At this popular bank fishing spot anglers are able to fish with either and Washington State Fishing License or a Colville Tribal Fishing License. In recent years there have been several improvements to the site. There is an RV park with hook ups, two heated restrooms with showers and a camping spots. What has been in the works is a new boat launch. I was pleased to see work underway when I was here last week. There was some heavy equipment at the waters edge and even divers in the water. I am guessing, but it would appear that work could be completed by this fall or early winter. This will be a great addition to the popular site, which will now serve boaters as well. I will keep you posted on the completion of the project. A big thanks goes out to the WDFW for funding most of the improvements here, and the Colville Tribe as well, for getting the construction done.
