By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Another weekend in the books and another adventure for Marion and me. We spent a few days with great friends on the shores of the Satsup River in southwest Washington. There's nothing really unique or out of the ordinary about the weekend. We just caught up with old friends, played Washoos and spent time in the river. But I guess that's the whole point. Do a lot of nothing and enjoy the company of others. And even though we're surrounded by people, its easy to get off on your own. Its a beautiful spot to look up, enjoy the scenery and just breathe. For those of you on our Facebook page, you can see this particularly cool spot where a group of vine maple made up a natural arbor. I found this place while wondering through thinking of Mom. It was along this same river a year ago I found out she'd passed away. I didn't know how I'd feel coming back here, but it was cathartic. I hope you also got a chance to get away and do some breathing and reflecting as well for your long, holiday weekend. Until next time, good fishing!
