By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. A couple years ago during the dead of winter, Marion told me she wanted to go fishing. I said, "OK, we'll go to Rufus Woods this weekend." The boat was tucked away for the winter so I planned to fish from shore at Brandts Landing northeast of Bridgeport. There was snow on the ground and it was in the 20's and Marion asked how we were going to stay warm. I said we'd build a fire or just hide out in the truck. She asked if we could get some fishing bells to put on the rods so we could hear if a fish was biting since we'd be quite a distance from the rods. At first I scoffed. I'd seen them before but never used them myself. But, as you know, happy wife, happy life. So I bought two Eagle Claw fishing bells for $2.50 apiece. Since then, I've used the heck out of them whenever bank fishing. It's incredible how these cheap, little devices have helped me catch more fish, including last weekend at Lake Roosevelt. The fish were light-biters, so the bells really came in handy. Until next time, Good Fishing!
