By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. Fire. It can be mesmerizing, warming and delightful when contained. Out of control, fire can ruin your life, if you let it. If you go to our Facebook page today you'll see photos of Jack's Resort on Jameson Lake in Douglas County. They nearly lost everything in September of 2020 when a wildfire swept through. If you've ever met Ginger Merritt, you'd know her inner fire and spirit can never be squelched. Jack's Resort has risen like a Phoenix from the ashes and is very close to being whole again. They'll be open for Opening Day at Jameson as always. There are still a few places left in the RV park. The food truck will be there because they're not quite done with the restaurant yet, but it's on the way. It's taken a village, but the family traditions of Jack's on the lowland lake opener will continue. My Dad had his childhood home burn down and then the one that replaced it burn down. Fire is devastating. It can take so much away. To witness the resurrection that can happen afterwards, however, is incredibly inspiring. Until next time, Good Fishing!
