By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Living in the Wenatchee Valley offers many advantages. Most of which provide me a quick launchpad into outdoor pursuits within minutes from my house. Earlier this week, Marion and I loaded up the boat and head for some sockeye fishing below Rocky Reach Dam. My kicker motor is still giving me fits, so I was nervous about entering the tight quarters along the Chelan County shoreline with 13 other boats, making the clockwise troll below the dam. Thankfully, I was able to mix my bowmount with the main motor to keep out of everyone's way. We made several passes before getting a double. I originally thought we'd hung up on the bottom, but then saw a sockeye splashing behind the boat. We lost the first one, but Marion did an excellent job bringing in the second. We were using #0 dodgers about 10-inches in front of pink hoochies with two, 2/0 hooks. I put a headless coon shrimp on the lead hook, soaked in a little Slammin' Sam's Anti-Pro XXX scent. A 4-ounce dropper ball on a slide was 2-feet in front of it all, 15-feet out on the line counter. Until next time, Good Fishing!
