By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. "A picture is worth a thousand words." If you check out our Facebook page today, you'll see one of my favorite pictures of me holding a King below Beebe Bridge on the Columbia River. It's one of my favorites not just because I'm holding a nice fish. It's more about what the photo says about why I love living here in North Central Washington. I'm wearing shorts and a sweatshirt. There's hardly another boat in site. The skies are blue with a few blotchy clouds. The water is rippled by a slight breeze and some current coming through the dam upstream. It's a typical Columbia River scene with the mighty waters shouldered by camel-hump brown hillsides split on either side by greenery at the water's edge. By the way, the original quote was by Henrik Ibsen, who said, "A thousand words leave not the same deep impression as does a single deed." Then Fred Barnard said, "One Look is Worth A Thousand Words." A Chinese proverb says, "Hearing something a hundred times isn't better than seeing it once". And Napoleon said, "A good sketch is better than a long speech". Either way, you get the picture. Until next time, Good Fishing!
