Dave Graybill is a native of North Central Washington and has fished in this region for over 50 years. He is familiar with the variety of species available to anglers in this region and provides them with current information on what’s happening on the fishing scene through a variety of media.
Dave writes and produces the “Outdoor Insider” reports to 7 radio stations in Eastern Washington and on KVI-AM in Seattle. He also has a column in the NCW Nickel Ads in Central Washington and the Tri-Cities. Dave’s writing is also featured in the Friday edition of the Columbia Basin Herald, and in their quarterly tabloid supplements on fishing in the region. The reports are now being used regularly in the on-line sports section of the Seattle Times.
He also started a Fishing TV Show over four years ago and added a Cooking TV Show. The programs receive 10,000 views a month via the internet through streaming.
Dave Graybill’s web site, FishingMagician.com, received over 5.8 million hits and 320,000 visits in 2011. The site carries the Outdoor Insider Reports, updated three times a week; a Photo Gallery, Product Review Page, Anglers Directory, and other popular elements for anglers interested in fishing the North Central Washington region.
Dave is sponsored by Bob Feil Boats and Motors and is provided the use of a JetCraft 1925 Discovery boat to do his fishing. He is also sponsored by Town Ford Lincoln Mercury in Wenatchee and is provided with Ford vehicles for his use in pursuit of current information for his reports. He is also active off the water, serving on a local ad hoc committee dealing with fishing issues and salmon and steelhead recovery on the Upper Columbia River. Dave is one of ten representatives on the Salmon and Steelhead Endorsement Stamp Board. This board oversees the distribution of over 1.5 million dollars for selective recreational fisheries for salmon and steelhead on the Columbia River and its tributaries. Graybill is also on the board of the Friends of Northwest Hatcheries, and an active member of the Icicle Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association. He was recently named “Volunteer of the Year” by the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival.
Dave Graybill has invested in the future of fishing by either founding or helping organize fishing events for kids for over twelve years. One is in Rock Island, near Wenatchee, another in Moses Lake and one at the National Fish Hatchery in Leavenworth. Over 2,000 kids and their families participate in these events every year.
