Belize Tarpon 1st One
Everything fell into place to provide excellent conditions for tarpon fishing for me in Belize. On my first time out, thanks to guide Nesto Gomez, I hooked six of these exciting fish, and landed three. All on a fly.
Belize Bonefish 1st Day
The bonefish were very cooperative on my first day of fishing. We were able to cast to these elusive fish just up the beach from our resort, Journey's End. I hooked three and landed two my first time out!
I got a chance to spend an afternoon with Danno Whelan and his wife Kathlene Peskens. They showed us some of the sights south of Ambergris Caye, and we caught two barracuda in one of the channels at the southern end of the island.
This a map showing Ambergris Caye, off the coast of Belize. The 2nd largest barrier reef in the world lies just off the shore of this caye, and the fishing both off shore and on the flats is fantastic.

Rufus Woods 5-10 Oct. 2
I like to cast a fly on Rufus Woods, and this was the first fish I hooked in mid-Oct. The triploid rainbow smacked a bead-head Wooly Bugger.
