What you are seeing here is what is known as "The Poplars" at Banks Lake, which is a landmark for walleye anglers. However, the fishing for smallmouth along the rip rap bank at the highway's edge is great for smallmouth bass.

Fishing wasn't a good as expected for the June 1st opener of the special triploid season below Chief Joseph Dam. Kevin Anderson (left) and Jim Passage weren't complaining, though. They both got two fish like the one shown. Over 60 boats pounded the water from Bridgeport to Brewster and fishing will improve as water temperatures climb and boat traffic drops.

Kokanee are the largest anyone can remember at Lake Chelan this year. They are consistently 15 to nearly 17 inches and are biting right now. Anglers are fishing for them deeper than usual, with most being taken in 100 feet of water. The fish will move more shallow soon, and I think the size average will drop, too, so get on them now!

This was what the weather was like at Fish Lake recently. Cloudy with a breeze--perfect. We darn near ran out of bait--two bubs of worms--on our recent fishing trip here, and one of our hot baits was a non-baited fly!

Mike McKee, owner of Mike's Meat and Farmers Market in Wenatchee, was surprised when this big triploid hit at Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee. He and his fishing buddies had a ball with me catching a bunch of rainbow, this triploid and even a brown trout.

Art Viola (left) is pretty pleased with this walleye he just landed, held by Brian Neilson. Viola is a retired fish manager and biologist from the Department of Fish and Wildlife and now fishes all over the region.

Brian Nielson of BJs Guide Service holds up the first walleye we caught on a recent trip to Moses Lake. We got a total of six keepers that day and caught fish on a variety of spinners, Max Lure Squidders, and Rapala Shad Raps.

Frank Desimone (left) is with Shane Magnuson on the Wind River. This is one of several nice springers taken on the Wind while fishing with Shane. I got some great footage for a future TV Show!

On my left is Herb Good who I and Ed Iman fished with on Drano Lake. Fishing was very tough. You are looking at one of only five fish caught that day on Drano. His faithful companion Jig is on the far left, and is a finely tuned critter.

This local angler caught these two nice roosterfish right off the breakwater of the marina, with a hand line! We will be fishing for roosterfish, yellowtail tuna, pargo, snapper, grouper and other species when we travel to Loreto in November.
