By Dave Graybill

My wife hadn’t had the opportunity to try the fishing at Rufus Woods yet, so last Sunday I drove around the long way and put the boat in a Seatons Grove. The parking lot was packed and when I ran down river to the Nespelem Bar across from the upper net pens I joined the fishing party going on there. I saw Brian Muller and Velma Dunkin from Moses Lake and they had just limited their boat, fishing right in this area. Just about everyone was casting jigs and drifting along the bar. We did the same and had a blast. Eileen and I used ¼-ounce Maxi-Jigs in bright pink and the triploids loved them. We caught and released a bunch doing this and then I decided I wanted to do something different, so we ran a ways back up river and started trolling in one of the bays. It was loaded with fish and they smacked the Wooly Buggers we were pulling behind small dodgers and Wiggle Fin discs. It was really a lot of fun and we came home with some big fish, too. I want to tell everyone that likes to get my free e-letter that a new one is out and you may need to sign up again to get it. I have a new delivery system and some names may have been dropped from the list.
