By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. It was a warm one in my hometown yesterday. 79-degrees in Wenatchee. It didn't feel like fall. But it's coming. And with it is the changeover for many outdoorsmen. It's time to winterize the boat and tuck it away for several months and focus on hunting. The state of Washington would like us to hold on a minute and get the rods out a few more times. I got a reminder email that this is a great time of year to go trout fishing. As the water temperatures cool, the fish get active and hungry. The WDFW Trout Derby is still going on and there are fish being stocked in area lakes through October. 5,000 trout were planted in Cow Lake in Adams County. Another 5,000 are being planted in Chelan County's Antilon Lake. About 25,000 catchable size rainbow are being planted in several Grant County Lakes, including Canal, Corral, Deep, Heart, Lenice, Nunally, Martha and Upper Caliche. The tagged fish for the derby avail anglers up to 800 prizes from various businesses worth over $40,000. If you catch a fish with a blue tag in its dorsal fin, you win. Until next time, Good Fishing!
