By Dave Graybill

Boy, am I excited. I’ve been invited to come along on a fishing trip to Pateros. There will be four in our party, and I have a feeling that we will all be catching fish. Our guide will be Shane Magnuson, and the trip is the result of his donation of a trip to the Icicle Chapter of Trout Unlimited. This gesture not only raised some serious money for the TU chapter, it also gives us four lucky anglers a chance to catch some steelhead. I have checked the forecast, and it looks like we are going to hit the weather right. Not to cold and hardly any wind. I will be taking my camera along and hope to capture some good video of our experience and also some good photos. Be sure and check the Picture Gallery on my web site later this week to see the results of our experience. This is prime time for fishing on the upper Columbia River. I was looking back at some photos from early December in previous years, and boy the fish looked great. They were very bright and the numbers of fish available in this area of the Columbia should be great right now.
