By Dave Graybill

I got an e-mail from one of my followers recently that really got me pumped to fish the Brewster Pool. I know the kings have been piling up there and wondered how the fishing was. I have had some good reports from some of the guides that I know that are fishing up there, but that is to be expected. They are on the water almost every day. This guy and a friend are just like you and me, though. He fished by himself for a couple of day up there and caught a couple of kings a day, up to 30 pounds. He had a friend come up and fish with him and they caught more fish. He said they had a few sockeye and jacks mixed in their catch, too, and that there are still a lot of sockeye in the Pool. He was fishing with the Super Bait Plug Cut, stuffed with tuna or sardine oil. They had their best luck fishing these behind a chrome Pro Troll flasher. This has me making plans to get up there as soon as I can. I was going to fish below Wells, but I have changed my mind.
