By Dave Graybill

I mentioned in an earlier report that I was planning at trip to Rocky Ford Creek, and I made it on Thursday. My fishing buddy Tom Barlett and I picked a perfect November day. It was in the 40s with very little wind and there wasn’t hardly anyone else fishing at the Ford that day. I started off with a bang. A huge fish hit my mini leech and broke me off! Tom caught one and landed one from the same area, so we were getting warmed up nicely. Was having a heck of time landing fish on my mini leech and Ultra Scud combo that I was fishing on an intermediate sinking line. I was two for eight when we took a break and I changed to an orange scud on a floating line. We worked walked down to the bottom end and began fishing from the island above where the Ford becomes a small stream and things got crazy. I lot my orange scud so Tom handed me a bright orangish leech he had tied up himself and we started catching fish like crazy. We ended the day only landing 18 fish but hooked 35; most of them in last hour and a half!
