It looks like the cool and wet weather we’ve have the past few days will be leave us and those who plan to travel to Central Washington should see some sun. Thousands will be coming over to fish our region’s lakes for Memorial Day Weekend, and once again they should enjoy warm days and very good fishing. For those that haven’t made reservations to camp or park their RV for the long weekend, there is still hope. The Cove Resort at Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee has a large camping area and should be able to fit a few more in. Park Lake, north of Ephrata has a very large camping area, and so does Jameson Lake. Up north, the town of Conconully has resorts and a State Park and can always accommodate visitors. The State Park at Curlew Lake, near Republic, is one of the nicest I have ever seen and there is always plenty of space here, even on a busy weekend. Take care around our area’s rivers. They are all running high and fast. Unless you’re taking an organized rafting trip, best cautious until flows moderate. Keep safe and have fun.
