By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I was visiting with the Moses Lake volleyball coach before her match against Eastmont last night and I found we have a shared problem with COVID. The mask mandate has been incredibly tough for people like us who have hearing problems. I never realized how much I read lips until everyone was required to wear a mask. Now, I'm constantly having to ask folks to repeat themselves because I can't hear them nor can I read their lips. Which brought up a topic that popped up on a memory for me on Facebook. It was a photo my daughter Gracie snapped of me while we were fishing Burke Lake in the Quincy Lakes 7-years ago. She kept telling me to stop frowning because it looked like I wasn't having any fun and that I was in a bad mood. In all honesty, I was having a great day because I put us on trout by slowly trolling a wedding ring and nightcrawler. I told her I wasn't frowning, I was concentrating. In today's world, especially with masks, I guess we need to pay more attention to what we're doing with our eyes. Until next time, Good Fishing!
