For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. Some of you are going to read this or hear the radio report and say, "well duh Eric!" Others might do like I did and go, "Wow! I never knew that!" So that's why I'm going to talk about a little drive Marion and I made on Saturday afternoon. Marion had some friends invite us to visit them while they were camping at the Wanapum State Park. I immediately said to Marion, "wait, what?!" I'd never heard of Wanapum State Park. It's just south of I-90 on the west side of the Vantage Bridge. If you take that exit and head downriver along the Columbia, you'll see the small park on your left along the river. It's just above Wanapum Dam and offers a great boat launch. After talking with her friends and learning of another boat ramp and fishing spot, I drove further downriver to find that Grant PUD has a couple incredible places to fish. There's the Huntzinger Fishing Pier above the Dam and the Huntzinger Boat Launch below the dam. There aren't a lot of parking spaces for trucks and trailers at the launch but there's a fish cleaning station and nice dock. Until next time, Good Fishing!
