Rock Island Cook Shack
The Cook Shack was a busy place at the annual Rock Island Kids Fishing Day. Ray Pearson's crew served everything from donuts in the morning to hot dogs and Pepsi at noon for the hungry fishing families.
Chelan Me
Here is one of the kokanee that my brother Rick and I caught on my last trip to Chelan. Kokanee were still hanging out at 70 to 90 feet deep and still hitting our hoochie rigs baited with white corn.
Chelan Tom Bartlett
Tom Bartlett of Plain had never caught a kokanee on Lake Chelan, and was pretty happy with this one. Jumbo kokanee fishing is still very good on Chelan and shows no sign of slowing down.
Belize Fred Lillian Permit
Fred Lillian of Seattle holds a permit he caught fishing with his guide Darrell, of Go Fish Belize. Fred was part of the group that my wife Eileen and I took for Belize in early April.
Belize Greg Permit
Greg Mohrland of Walla Walla was very pleased with this permit he caught on his first day of fishing on our trip to Belize. His goal was to catch a permit, and it was the first fish he caught!
Belize Permit Richard and Me
Richard Robinson, of Rockaway, Oregon, (left) and I hold up a pair of permit that we caught fishing with our guide Darrell. We were fishing on the back side of Ambergis Caye in Belize on our trip in early April.
Belize Rene Bonefish
Rene Peterson of Chelan shows off a big bonefish she caught on her first day of fishing in Belize. She and her husband Robert were part of the group that traveled there with my wife Eileen and I in early April.
Chelan Rick and Eric
Rick Graybill and Eric Granstrom teamed up running the downriggers to take 16 big kokanee on Lake Chelan. Granstrom broke in his new rod and reel in style.
Chelan Rick and me
My brother Rick and I are showing off a couple of the kokanee we caught on Lake Chelan. We found the fish from 70 to 90 feet, right out in the middle off Rocky Point.
Yakima Johnny
Johnny Boitano holds up a rainbow on the Yakima River. He put Rollie Schmitten and I on over 20 fish in the lower canyon. We go fish on stone flies and dry flies, and we didn't see another boat!
