Let’s see, if I had a choice of where to go to do some fishing over the weekend, which way would I head? I know the Okanogan is full of steelhead, and the same is true for the Methow. There are still a bunch of trout in the lakes near Quincy, and a buddy of mine is trying to get me to join him for some hot bass fishing on one of the Rock Island ponds. My wife and I are planning to go somewhere to take advantage of the good weather. Boy, it’s tough to choose. I think I’ll hook up the boat and instead of putting it in at Rufus Woods I am going to fish the main stem Columbia River. There should be a bunch of steelhead from Bridgeport all the way down through Pateros. I can always put in below Wells if I don’t find them up river. My wife, Eileen, loves catching steelhead and she hasn’t had much of a chance this year. Yup, that’s what I am going to do. It’s steelhead fishing on the upper Columbia. I’ll let you know how we do.
