Salmon fever is running rampant here in Central Washington. Anglers are scattered from Wanapum to Wells dams looking for summer-run Chinook and sockeye. Those who missed the seminars at Town Ford and Hooked on Toys will have another opportunity to learn from the pros at Bob Feil Boats and Motors. There will be a free seminar on Thursday, July 10th, starting at 6 p.m. Shane Magnuson, of Upper Columbia Guide Service, will be there to talk about catching summer-run salmon, and Austin Moser will be providing a presentation on catching sockeye. There will be plenty of parking available at the dealership on Sunset Highway in East Wenatchee. There will be door prizes and light refreshments. After you have honed your skills be sure to enter the Wenatchee Salmon Derby, coming up on July 18th and 19th. There will be a lot of cash and prizes handed out again this year. The boundary has been expanded to include Wells Dam. There is also an added advantage for those who plan to fish both the Wenatchee and Brewster Salmon derbies. Visit the derby web site at wenatcheesalmonderby.com to get the details. The Brewster Derby will take place on August 1st through the 3rd this year. Learn all about it at brewstersalmonderby.com.
